Criticisms at its Best.....or Worst....teehee

Save for those who can take "no offense" as non-offensive, I for one can sometimes be quite sensitive especially when there has been a bad evaluation, a failure or simply a job not well done.

But as we grow up, we learn how to handle criticisms.....

#1: Sometimes, it will be like swallowing really bitter medicine that leaves a bad taste in your mouth forever

This can be harmful:   IF...we don't try to get pass the fact that medicine can help you feel better, and continue dwelling or moping in our troubles as if we are the only ones on earth with a life problem.

#2: Other times, it'll be like learning how to ride a bike.

You cycle without your training wheels for the first time. Indefinitely, we fall down or scrape our knee. (Well, I cycled into a bush......see, you're not so bad after all..=P) But we get up again, and we try. We pedal one foot at a time, we get the hang of it. And surprise surprise, you now know how to ride a bike!

Similar to taking criticisms, if it's bad, let's get up again, pedal that bike one foot at a time, and know that we can overcome the "sword into your heart" moment, and be a damn good bike rider. =P

#3: But there'll be days when it's like Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

Yup......very true in the real world. You can be loved one day and hated the very next. K, the thing about Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde is that you can never be two personalities in one body for the rest of your life. What happened to Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde? well, from Literature classes, he/they died.

The truth of the matter is that there'll be days when people love what you say or do or even what you achieved in life. But what if we mess up or make a mistake? The world can be quite cruel and point fingers at the one mistake you make, out of the 100 times you did things right. Are we ready to  "man up"?

Thus, let us not only want to hear what we think or know is right. But let us also understand that we can choose to receive constructive criticisms. It is true that we should not take EVERYTHING to heart 'cause you are who you are and no one can change that except your self.

But if there are times when there is room to be a better person, I'll draw my white flag and accept the criticisms honorably.

I have swallowed bitter medicine, but I've also learnt how to ride a bicycle. On top of that, we studied Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde in high school. So yea, I've had my fair share, and yea, there'll be more of it to come in the future.

The world is not always out to get you.      People are not always contemplating schemes full of fallacy.
We are not a tragic catharsis in the making.

Maybe how you react to your next criticism will determine your future job, your life partner, or even the great person you were made to be. Let it be that we not regret our actions and strive to be a better individual, a better friend, a better girlfriend/ boyfriend, a better husband/ wife.......or maybe even a better citizen of this country. =)

Who knows, you can be the next superhero....*wink wink* =P
