To create a blog....=)

Well, O.K.. I don't have a to-do list but at least now I can answer  "Yes, I have a blog..." when people ask *wink wink* =P

So first blog post of the day...

What's in a name?

We all (safe to say at least 80% of us...) take pride in our given names. Be it whether from birth, or given after a Confirmation, or even a self-given name after having an "Oh-I need-an-English-name" moment....

According to Chinese traditions, names dictate the make a person: how the person will be like, what he or she will grow up to be. 

The English names vary from Tom to Harry to Dick or Jane.....Many of my friends have BEAUTIFUL names and some even tell me stories of how their names came to be. 

And It really doesn't matter whether you had a good or bad background, what race you are, what religion you came from or even where you got your name from. All that matters, is the fact that we remember who we are and to try hard to be a better person every single day.

I used to be teased a lot during my primary days for having "Shermaine" as a name. I used to be called "cermin" and the teasing goes from "cermin mata" to "cermin tingkap" to "CERRRMINNN......tak pecah ke hari ni?"

And it all did not matter after all these years anymore....=) Did it break me then? Yes...Did it hurt?Well, yeah when everyone teases you at any time of the day... But it did not MAKE the person that I turn out to be.

Yes, I have flaws, I admit it. But I know that I have grown into a person, not fragile nor easily broken like the "cermin' but a person with a heart, compassionate and made whole because of Jesus who saved me. =)

And the maine thing is......You can have a grrrreat name, or a really bad one, but you still can have an amazing life. You can love to hate, or you can brake to break, but let not the small little bad things that happened in the past or will happen in your days to come determine who you will be for the rest of your life. 

"He knows my name....

He knows my every thought...

...He hears me when I call.."
